Mr. Herb Appel, vice president of Developro, Inc., has been the President of the Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council for over 18 years. Mr. Appel received his B.S. Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1964. He has been active in serving the community on over 15 board of directors in business and civic organization including two terms as Chairman of the Volunteer Council at the Richmond State School, Chairman for the Reagan/Bush Campaign in Fort Bend County as well as the Clements for Governor Campaign and as a member of the Fannie Mae Housing Impact Advisory Committee. Mr. Appel has also served two terms as the President of the Rosenberg/Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council is a public/private partnership created to diversify, and improve the quality of the economy in Fort Bend County, Texas. Fort Bend County's economy now ranks in the top 1% of all economies in the nation for employment growth.

Mr. George Culver, vice president, has worked in the GIS Industry for over seven years with his experience ranging from seismic data collection, land and economic development mapping to engineering applications. Recent project experience includes The Woodlands JPA/SJRA Utility Mapping/Facility Planning GIS Project, the Brazoria County Mobility Plan, the Tropical Storm Allison Flood Analysis Project, The Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council GIS Project, the Brays Bayou Flood Control Project and the LJA GIS Discovery Program. In recent years George has focused the GIS group in the direction of Economic Development, District Operations, GASB 34 compliance and Shared Use Hike and Bike Trail Programs.

George is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Cartography and Remote Sensing. Additional education includes ESRI certification in ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcTools, Avenue and AML.
